Cognitive Justice

Coforum and the Chapel of Many both embody principles of cognitive justice by creating spaces that value diverse forms of knowledge and foster inclusive dialogue. Cognitive justice, broadly defined as the recognition and validation of multiple knowledge systems—especially those historically marginalized—is central to their design. The Chapel of Many, a symbolic and traveling structure composed of movable chairs, physically transforms to invite participation and collaboration, breaking down barriers and promoting shared understanding through communal gathering. Similarly, Coforum, through its various manifestations such as the Children's Osteopathic Forum or the P2P Foundation's wiki, aims to be a hub for shared knowledge and peer-to-peer exchange, ensuring that diverse perspectives and experiences are acknowledged and integrated, rather than dominated by a single, hegemonic viewpoint. Both initiatives prioritize environments where knowledge is co-created and celebrated, reflecting the core tenets of cognitive justice.
